چکیده
Identifying the origin of NOx emissions, their transformation into nitrate (NO3−) and its atmospheric deposition is important to better understand impacts air pollution on environment human health, a local regional scale. We measured isotopes (δ15N, δ18O NO3−) in precipitation samples tropical station Brazil 2019–2020 combined them with chemical, geospatial meteorological data trace sources towards wet as NO3−. A total N ∼12 kg N/ha.year showed significant pollution, out which relative contribution NO3−-N was ∼37% (4.6 NO3−-N/ha.year). The δ15N–NO3- values ranged from −8.5 +4.1‰, volume-weighted mean (VWM) value −3.0 ± 2.7‰, whereas δ18O–NO3- +25.9 +63.5‰ VWM +53.3 7.3‰. results mass backward trajectory analysis mapping revealed that emissions Belo Horizonte originated from: vehicles industries urban industrialized areas, biomass burning related wildfires, ship coastal areas. temporal variation δ15N, NO3− attributed source variability processes. use integrated methods evaluate imprints anthropogenic will contribute inform management strategies improve water quality.

Anthropogenic air pollution sources
What one experiences today as atmosphere is a transient snapshot and result of its evolutionary history. Much of the development and present status was explained based both on scientific knowledge, and combined with established facts, even speculation. The planet Earth was formed around 4600 million years ago by the gravitational accretion of relatively small rocks and dust, within the solar ne...
متن کاملLand Use and Transportation Laws’ efficiency with regard to Air Pollution in Tehran Metropolitan Area
Air pollution is the major concern and challenge of Tehran urban areas’ management. Various rules, regulation, and laws had been codifiesd on this matter. In present research, the enforcement of laws and regulation concerning air pollution in the field of land-use and transportation is being addressed. The purpose of this article is to suggest an applicable (applied) framework embracing a descr...
متن کاملAn Assessment of Anthropogenic Effects on Precipitation in and near the Phoenix, Arizona Metropolitan Area
It has long been hypothesized that urban areas exert a direct influence on precipitation patterns in their immediate surroundings (Horton, 1921). Early studies focused on this influence through the use of point-observation comparisons of urban and rural areas to quantify the anthropogenic effects on precipitation (AEP) (Changnon Jr., 1968, Huff and Changnon Jr., 1973, Huff and Schickedanz, 1974...
متن کاملAssessment on the Ozone Air Pollution in a Medium Metropolitan Area: Seville (Spain)
Problems caused by the air pollution which are generated mainly in metropolitan areas and industrial complexes, become in the major challenges for the current society. The air pollution has its origin in the chemical species emission into the atmosphere which may be harmful for human health (Lin, et al., 2008; Doherty et al., 2009), vegetation and ecosystems (Cape, 2008). The pollutants in the ...
متن کاملImpact of primary formaldehyde on air pollution in the Mexico City Metropolitan Area
Formaldehyde (HCHO) is a radical source that plays an important role in urban atmospheric chemistry and ozone formation. The Mexico City Metropolitan Area (MCMA) is characterized by high anthropogenic emissions of HCHO (primary HCHO), which together with photochemical production of HCHO from hydrocarbon oxidation (secondary HCHO), lead to high ambient HCHO levels. The CAMx chemical transport mo...
